Description: The brain responds to positive sounds, like laughter, by stimulating the premotor cortical region of the brain in order to activate facial muscles conducive to smiling or laughing, thus leading to an empathetic effect in the social context of laughing. Simply put, laughing is contagious. This series of sound installations is meant to elicit a physiological response in the audience in reaction to the sounds of laughter.
The sound installations are meant to be listened via headphones to enhance the directionality of the sound, with eyes closed.
